Record Sale for Perth Mansion at $20M

Despite the global economic downturn, Australia’s real estate market is still going at a healthy pace. In fact, a record sale in Perth closed at $20 million last month.
The Dalkeith property was bought by prominent Perth QC Malcom McCusker and his wife, Tonya, in December 2008. This new record surpassed the pervious highest sale in the area at $16 million.

The mansion is a six-bedroom, four-bathroom home on a 2,302 square metres. It has  uninterrupted river views. It is located on 56 Jutland Pde in Dalkeith.
Real Estate agent William Porteous sold the property at $12.25 million in 2006 and again to McCusker this year. The value has risen 63 percent in three years, despite the general decline of prices in the property market.

“It shows that there is a market for unique, highly specialised properties in Perth,” said property valuation manager Travis Coleman. “These types of properties not only attract local buyers, but international buyers as well,” he adds.
